Have the birth you envisioned. The postpartum you deserve. The support that stays.

A mindfulness-rooted mama of two, and the kind of person who will advocate fiercely for you in a hospital room and then show up at your door three days later with a calm presence and zero judgment.

That’s Parent Vortex. That’s Melinda.

Hi! I’m Melinda.

As a birth doula, I show up for you before labor even begins — meeting prenatally so we can talk through your birth vision, answer every question, and make sure you feel genuinely prepared walking into that room. When labor starts I’m by your side when you need it most, helping with breathing and comfort measures, supporting your partner so they can show up for you fully, and advocating for you with your care team so you never feel unheard or rushed into decisions. I hold all the details so you don’t have to — you just focus on birthing your baby.

As a postpartum doula, and lactation educator, I’m basically an extra set of hands when you need it most. Whether that means holding your sweet newborn so you can finally get some sleep or take an uninterrupted shower, helping with light household tasks, supporting your breastfeeding journey, or simply sitting with you and offering a listening ear — I show up ready to help.

You won’t need to give me a to-do list. I show up, take stock of what’s needed, and get to work — so you don’t have to manage me on top of everything else. Think of me as a mother’s helper — there for whatever a new mom needs in those tender early weeks and months.

I became a doula because I know what it feels like to walk into one of the biggest moments of your life and wish you had someone truly in your corner — not just on the medical side, but on the human side.

I am a CAPPA trained Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Educator, and a trained Birth Doula. I am CPR trained for infants and adults. I offer evidence-based care, holistic guidance, and mindfulness-rooted support from labor and birth through your fourth trimester — for families in Colorado and beyond. I believe in the power of research, the wisdom of your intuition, and the healing that happens when families feel supported. My passion spans the entire journey into parenthood — because birth deserves just as much care and presence as the weeks that follow. Care, connection, and a space to actually grow into parenthood — from the very first contraction.

I’m not the doula who’s going to push a rigid philosophy on you. I believe in the wisdom of your body and the value of modern medicine — because there’s a time and place for both, and knowing the difference is everything. I’ll advocate for you to have the birth experience you want. And when decisions need to be made, I’ll help you understand your options, feel confident in your choices, and move through them with strength.

I blend the science of birth and postpartum recovery with mindfulness, positive thinking, and real-world practicality — because you don’t have to choose between being grounded and being informed. You can be both. And with the right support, you will be.

As a mom of two, I know how wild, beautiful, and transformative this journey into parenthood gets. I understand the swirl of emotions and energy that early motherhood brings. I embrace the connection and chaos that unfolds as your family grows. I am passionate about making space for rest, recovery, and real support.

If you’re looking for compassionate guidance, breastfeeding education, or someone who truly gets it… I’d love to support you in your experience.

Why Families Choose Parent Vortex

Grounded, Practical, & Actually Fun

I’m not overly woo-woo. I’m not cold and clinical either. I’m somewhere in the middle — calm, confident, easy to talk to, and genuinely good at reading a room. I bring mindfulness and positive thinking into my work because they work, not because they sound good on a website.

Lactation Support Baked In

As a certified lactation educator, I support your feeding journey from day one — with evidence-based guidance, practical hands-on help, and zero pressure. Breastfeeding support isn’t an add-on here, it’s built into everything I do. Fed is fed, and I meet you exactly where you are.

True Continuity of Care

I’m the same face in the delivery room that shows up at your door in the postpartum weeks. You don’t have to rebuild trust with someone new at the most vulnerable time of your life. I already know you, your birth story, and what you need.

A Mom Who Lives in the Real World

I have two kids. I’ve had two completely different experiences. I’ve been in the thick of it — the sleepless nights, the feeding challenges, the emotional rollercoaster of new motherhood. I’m not guessing at what you’re going through. I know.

A Real Advocate in the Room

Hospitals move fast. Interventions get suggested before you’ve had a chance to ask questions. I’m there to slow that down — to help you understand your options, ask the right questions, and make informed decisions with confidence. Your birth, your body, your call.

Your Partner in Positive Parenting

Parent Vortex was created at the intersection of evidence and intuition — a place where breastfeeding support, postpartum recovery, and mindful grounding work together instead of separately.

Because postpartum isn’t just physical. It’s emotional, energetic, and deeply personal. It deserves support that sees all of you — your body, your baby, and your inner world.

The Parent Vortex Philosophy

Birth is powerful. Postpartum is real. And parenthood is a journey that deserves more than quick fixes and generic advice.

At Parent Vortex, I bring together the things I genuinely believe in — evidence-based care, mindful presence, the science of positive thinking, and the kind of practical support that actually moves the needle. Not because it’s trendy. Because it works.

I believe your body is wise. I believe modern medicine has its place. I believe breastfeeding is worth supporting. I believe postpartum connection is real and deserves to be celebrated. I believe you can have a birth that feels good — even when it doesn’t go exactly to plan.

And I believe that with the right person in your corner, you can walk into this season of life feeling ready. That person can be me. Let’s talk.

I’m here to support you through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond with compassionate breastfeeding education, newborn care guidance, and tools for parenting with presence.
